Ask your books a question

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, or any assistant that supports the Model Context Protocol, and it can answer questions about your books: where each business stands, what is still unreviewed, what is missing before you file, your mileage log, your GST/HST position, and what is due next.

It can read. It cannot change anything.

An assistant connects with read-only access. Three separate things keep it that way. The connection has no way to ask for a change. The key it holds is a read-only one. And your books refuse a change from a read-only key, whatever it sends. Any one of those alone would be enough.

Where your books are

If we host your books, the assistant connects to your own vault address, and you approve it once, signed in as yourself. If your books are on your own computer, the connection runs on that computer and talks to them there. Either way, when the assistant answers a question, what it read to answer it is sent to the assistant's provider, the same as anything else you ask it. It reads one answer at a time, when you ask.

You can see it, and remove it

The assistant appears in BlueAnchor's Settings beside your phones, with the date it was connected. The same button that removes a bookkeeper removes it.

Connect it

If we host your books, your connector address is your vault's address followed by /mcp, for example https://yourname.blueanchor.app/mcp.

In Claude: open Customize, then Connectors. Click +, then Add custom connector, paste the address and click Add. Click Connect, sign in, and choose Allow read only access.

In ChatGPT (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu, on the web): open Settings, then Security and login, and turn on Developer mode. Go to chatgpt.com/plugins, click +, name it BlueAnchor, paste the address under Connection and create it. Sign in when asked and choose Allow read only access.

If your books are on your own computer: on that computer, run blueanchor mcp --install. It prints a short block to add to your assistant's settings. Restart the assistant and ask it where your books stand.
