BlueAnchor Terms of Use

Effective date: 10 September 2026 Provider: Blue Harbour Solutions Inc ("BlueAnchor", "we", "us"), Nova Scotia, Canada Contact: support@blueharboursolutions.com

Summary, in plain language

  1. Your records are yours and they are on your own machine. We do not hold them, we cannot see them, and nothing here changes that.
  2. This is software, not advice. It works out what the rules appear to allow from what you give it. Deciding what to file is yours.
  3. A subscription pauses new work, never access to your own records. If you stop paying, everything already in your vault stays readable, exportable and restorable, forever.

1. What this agreement covers

These terms cover the BlueAnchor iOS app and the BlueAnchor vault software that runs on your own computer. Using either means you accept them.

If you bought a subscription through the App Store, Apple's own terms also apply to that purchase, and where Apple's rules for an auto-renewable subscription differ from anything here, Apple's rules govern the purchase.

2. What the software does, and what it does not

BlueAnchor reads receipts and invoices, keeps the originals, applies the tax rules it has been given, and produces figures and a filing pack.

It is not accounting, tax or legal advice, and we are not your accountants. Nobody at Blue Harbour Solutions Inc offers services under any accounting designation. The output is a starting point for you, or for a professional you choose, and every figure remains yours to check before you rely on it.

It does not file anything for you. Nothing is transmitted to any tax authority. You enter your own return.

Extraction is not perfect. Amounts are read off images by software. Check them. The app is built so every figure can be corrected and every original can be reopened, because that is the honest design for a system that reads photographs.

3. Your records, and who holds them

The vault is a database file on your computer with the original documents beside it. We do not receive it and we cannot recover it.

What leaves your machine, and to whom, is set out in the privacy policy at https://blueanchor.app/privacy. That document is part of these terms.

4. Subscriptions, billing and cancelling

Some features need a subscription. There are two ways to buy one and the commitments below apply identically to both.

Through the App Store. Billed by Apple to your Apple ID and renewed automatically until you stop it. Apple charges at confirmation and again at the start of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Cancel from your App Store subscriptions, which the app links to directly.

Directly from us, for a practice or a company. Billed monthly to the card on the account, renewed until you stop it, and cancelled from the billing screen in the product.

These are commitments, not descriptions, and each one is also a constant in the software so the two cannot drift apart:

Refunds bought through the App Store are Apple's to give, because Apple takes the payment, and we will not stand in the way of one. Refunds on a subscription bought directly from us are ours, and we give them.

If you stop paying, you still get your records

This matters more here than in most software, because the CRA requires you to keep these records for six years and losing them is your problem, not ours.

So: ending a subscription never destroys your books, and never locks you out of taking them with you. Export keeps working after a subscription ends. You can take the whole vault out, documents and all, in a format that does not need us to read it. We will tell you before anything is deleted, with enough notice to act, and if you have asked us to keep it we will keep it.

5. What stops, and what never stops

If a subscription lapses, these pause:

These keep working, subscription or not, for as long as the software runs:

That is the whole of it. Nothing else is withheld, and nothing you have already captured is ever locked behind a payment.

6. Using it properly

Do not use BlueAnchor to record or claim something you know to be false, to process documents you have no right to, or to attack, overload or reverse the service into something it is not. Do not present its output as the work of a licensed professional.

You are responsible for the accounts you connect and for the people you give access to.

7. Availability

The software runs on your own machine, so it does not depend on us being online. Three things do: reading a receipt, measuring a road distance, and checking a subscription. Those depend on third parties and can be interrupted. We do not promise uninterrupted service and we do not promise that extraction will read every document correctly.

8. Ending it

You can stop using BlueAnchor whenever you like, and your records stay with you.

We may end access for use that breaks section 6. If we do, you keep your vault: it is on your machine and it was yours before you installed anything.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, BlueAnchor is provided as it is, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit, or for a tax position you took. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here limits anything that cannot be limited under Canadian consumer protection law.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Nova Scotia and the laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Nova Scotia have jurisdiction.

11. Changes

If these change materially you will be told in the app before the change takes effect, and the previous version will be kept alongside this one rather than replaced.
