The one you did not keep is the one you get asked about.
A year of card charges, each with its receipt behind it, and one without.

The ones you kept are stored read only, each with a SHA-256 fingerprint, so you can show later that nothing was altered.
The one you did not is the charge you will be asked to support. BlueAnchor names it while you can still do something about it, not in the week the letter arrives.
What comes out
Exactly which lines. Exactly what amounts.
An example year for a small Nova Scotia corporation. The line numbers and rules are real; the company and the amounts are made up.
Northfield Charters Ltd. · T2, Schedule 125 (GIFI)
| Line | Account | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| 8521 | Advertising | 4,182.55 |
| 8523 | Meals and entertainment | 3,116.40 |
| 8710 | Interest and bank charges | 1,104.36 |
| 8810 | Office expenses | 1,655.18 |
| 8860 | Professional fees | 6,450.00 |
| 9110 | Sub-contracts | 18,900.00 |
| 9150 | Software and computer-related | 11,742.83 |
| 9200 | Travel expenses | 5,207.61 |
| 9281 | Motor vehicle expenses | 3,318.09 |
| Nine of thirteen lines shown | 63,211.23 |
Schedule 1 adds back the non-deductible half of meals, 1,558.20 (ITA s.67.1). A corporation carries the full amount at GIFI 8523 and restricts it there. A sole proprietor takes the allowable half on the T2125 and has no Schedule 1.
Before you file: the charges with nothing behind them
| Charge | Amount | CRA evidence tier |
|---|---|---|
| Unnamed vendor, 12 Mar | $612.40 | $500 or more |
| Fuel, 3 May | $488.75 | $100 to $499.99 |
| Trade supplier, 19 Jun | $344.90 | $100 to $499.99 |
| Hardware store, 14 Aug | $105.00 | $100 to $499.99 |
| Coffee shop, 14 Aug | $99.00 | Under $100 |
The last two are six dollars apart and BlueAnchor treats one as far more urgent. At $100 the CRA starts requiring the supplier's GST/HST registration number, and only the receipt carries it. Sorted by amount, the one that matters gets buried. The $100 and $500 tiers are from CRA guide RC4022; see what each tier needs.
| GST/HST return | Amount |
|---|---|
| 105 Total GST/HST and adjustments | 20,790.00 |
| 108 Total ITCs and adjustments | 8,329.19 |
| 109 Net tax owing | 12,460.81 |
BlueAnchor does not file this and does not give tax advice. It gives you the lines, the amounts, and the document behind each figure. A person files the return.
Who it is for
If your spending is split between work and the rest of your life.
Work on one card, life on the same card
A company, a side business, some freelance, and your own spending, all through the same one or two cards. Tell BlueAnchor once which is which and every charge after that lands in the right place. How to split one card across businesses.
You file yourself, or hand it to someone
Either way the year has to arrive in one shape: the filing lines, the GIFI or T2125 codes, or Schedule C, and the document behind each figure. The handover is a file, not a conversation about what a charge was.
You drive for one of them
Drives are recorded as they happen and you decide which were business. Priced at the rate your country publishes: in Canada the 2026 allowance of 73 cents a km for the first 5,000 km and 67 after, in the US 72.5 cents a mile to June and 76 from July. What those rates are for.
Straight about it
What it does, what it will not do, and the question we have not settled.
It does
- Keep several sets of books apart, and route a card to one of them
- Lay out T2125 lines, GIFI codes, the GST/HST return, and Schedule C lines
- Check each receipt against the CRA's own evidence tiers
- Match every receipt to the charge on an imported card or bank statement
- Keep the original read only and show nothing was altered
It does not
- File anything, or give tax advice. We are not accountants and do not act as any
- Claim any endorsement by or relationship with the CRA or the IRS
- Run payroll, or compute the accelerated capital cost allowance incentive
- Run on Android yet
The question we have not settled
To read a receipt, the image is sent to a vision model and the text comes back. That provider's terms allow it to cache the image outside Canada, and the CRA has published nothing on whether that counts as keeping a record abroad. We are not going to pretend the question is settled, and we are costing an in-Canada replacement.
Your records are your own vault
Your original documents and a database, kept apart from every other customer's: hosted by us in Canada, or on your own computer. Backups are copies, never the record. Privacy policy.
Before you ask.
Can it keep a corporation and a sole proprietorship apart?
Yes. That is the reason it exists. It carries several sets of books at once and keeps them apart, and a card assigned to one set of books routes every future charge to it automatically. Running both, and what each files.
What does it cost?
Personal is $4.99 a month, One business $12.99 and Every business $29.99, in US dollars, or $49.99, $129.99 and $299.99 a year. Every plan starts with a 30 day free trial. See the plans.
Do I need a computer as well as an iPhone?
No. We can host your books for you, in Canada, and you reach them from the phone and from any browser. If you would rather keep them on your own computer, you can. Hosting is by invitation while BlueAnchor is in testing.
Does it file my taxes?
No, and it does not give tax advice. BlueAnchor produces the numbers, the line references and the document behind each one. You or whoever you hand the year to files.
Does it work in the United States?
Yes. You choose your country at first run, and again for each business. US categories map to Schedule C lines, mileage uses the IRS standard rate including its mid year change, and sales tax is deducted with the purchase rather than reclaimed. The assembled year end filing pack is Canada only so far.
When does it launch?
There is no launch date yet, and we will not invent one. It is in testing on iPhone now. Everyone on the waitlist gets one email when it opens, and nothing before that.
Who is behind it?
Blue Harbour Solutions Inc, a Canadian company in Halifax, Nova Scotia, federally incorporated on 13 May 2026. The same company makes the WildEcho app, which is live on the App Store. More about Blue Harbour.
